An Army veteran who has participated in Counter Insurgency operations in both J & K and the North East, Col Anil Alagh, GM-CSR, Select Group, commanded a specialized missile unit during the Kargil war. He has been General Manager with the Group since Oct 2007, first at Select Hotels and thereafter, since July 2010, at the CSR Foundation he helped raise in one of the Group Companies.
He has left his uniformed and commercial years far behind and today solely pursues his real calling in life of service to humanity. He loves to reach out to the environment and animals alike, but nurturing children, especially those who are differently abled, and serving the old or destitute are his passion
He himself supports various charities and motivates others to follow a path of love and compassion both through resources and time. A follower of Swami Vivekananda’s ideals and an ardent admirer of Mother Teresa, he prefers to lead by example and uses his hands and heart in bringing smiles and solace to all.
An outdoor person, he is often found working amongst, or for, the needy and missing from the air-conditioned office environments. He heads the Le Passage Travel Foundation, is an advisor-cum-executor in Select Group CSR initiatives and is actively involved in the Sharma family’s multiple personal charities.
